Wan Chai Visual Archive is a non-profit community art space, located on the first floor of The Archive, in the revitalizing Blue House neighbourhood of Hong Kong. Our programme of workshops, exhibitions and forums is committed to generate artistic collaboration therefore productive dialogues between old and new, local and foreign, individual and institution.

Research of urban redevelopment models has long been due in Hong Kong, particularly from a cultural standpoint and the urgency of embracing community participation. Initiated by Goldig Investment Group with corporate social responsibility and The RICE LAB, School of Design, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Wanchai Visual Archive takes form both as a cultural incubator in-situ as well as a research project striving to understand the conflicts, opportunities and possible synergies emerged throughout community redevelopment.
